Cala Agulla beach, with crystal clear waters, is located in the northeast of Mallorca, in the popular tourist destination of Cala Ratjada. It is the largest of the three beaches that belong to Cala Ratjada. With a length of about 520 metres, you will always find a place, even in summer, despite the good number of visitors. The soft sand, the clear water and the surrounding forests and mountains provide a picturesque backdrop.
Location and surroundings
Cala Agulla is situated to the north on the outskirts of the village. A road connects the centre of Cala Ratjada with the popular bathing bay, so you can also reach the beach quickly from the harbour. If you arrive by car, you can use the car park behind the bathing bay for a fee or you can park for free on the access road to the roundabout on the south-east side. The beach is surrounded by shady pine forests, dunes, flat rocks and mountains. Explore wonderful hiking trails here up to the mountain with observation tower “Talaia de Son Jaumell” with fantastic views or to the popular neighbouring bay of Cala Mesquida. It is worth it!
Beach and infrastructure
Cala Agulla offers a beautiful light and wide sandy beach. Due to the shallow sloping access to the sea, it is ideal for families with small children. In the high season, you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for a fee. Early arrival is advisable here, as the beach is always well frequented in summer. Small beach bars “Chiringuitos” offer snacks, baguettes and cool drinks on hot summer days. You will also find several restaurants and supermarkets in the direct surroundings on the access road to the beach. Lifeguards always ensure safety and a sanitary facility in the middle of the beach offers the necessary comfort for a long day at the beach.
Water sports and more
Cala Agulla also offers many options for more active visitors. There is a kayak rental in the middle of the bay where you can rent pedal boats, kayaks or standup paddle boards. There are two volleyball courts available and for the absolute fun factor you can take part in a ride on a banana boat. There is no room for boredom here.
But even with just a towel, sunscreen and a good book, you can spend fantastic hours on this unique beach.
