The name says it all! Extensive pine forests cover the gentle hills of the “Serra de Llevant”, which embraces the wonderful, wide bay of the popular tourist resorts Cala Bona and Cala Millor.
The wooded hills in the upper part are a nature reserve and not only protect the village from the cold north winds, but also form a natural border with Canyamel. On the lower part of the slopes down to the rocky coast, fantastic, partly very luxurious villas nestle with views of the azure blue bay. The villas in the first line of the sea have their own access to the sea, and it is not uncommon for a platform to be built below, where the owners sunbathe or anchor their boat.
A very popular golf course, some of whose fairways also offer magnificent views of the sea, blends in perfectly with the landscape. At the edge of the wild rocky coast the shore changes into a fine sandy beach, which is mainly used by locals and residents. Here you know each other, here you are among yourself. Especially to mention is the beachbar “at Mauri’s” which has cult status. To see and be seen is the motto – and to eat exquisitely. Smaller yachts anchor in the bay and land with their rubber dinghies on the beach to enjoy the legendary paella or the fantastic seafood here.
Towards the small tourist port of Cala Bona the natural rocky coast has been largely preserved – a paradise for romantics and divers. Not only for the culinary pleasure in some of the restaurants at the sea is provided, but there are also a lot of sport possibilities: Golf, water skiing, hiking in the nature reserve or along the sea, cycling and diving. It is a wonderful place to enjoy, be active and yet relax.
